Staff from Eaton Bank Academy have ramped up their production of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to meet the needs of NHS staff and frontline carers in the Cheshire and Staffordshire area.
With support from the school community and beyond, the team of Eaton Bank staff have produced over 1400 PPE visors during the Easter Holidays.
Recipients of the much needed equipment include Leighton Hospital, Royal Stoke University Hospital as well as Readesmoor Medical Centre and Lawton House Surgery in Congleton.
Workers caring for elderly and vulnerable adults in care homes and the community have also benefitted from the PPE equipment.
Eaton Bank Academy has been using its 3D printing facilities to manufacture the visors, led by the school D&T department.
Staff (adhering to strict social distancing measures) have volunteered their time to assist in the production manufacturing process to ensure all requests for PPE was met.
Headteacher Mr Ed O'Neill said: "I'm so proud of the Eaton Bank staff who have pulled together to produce over 1400 PPE visors for the local community.
"Our school community has been fantastic supporting our fundraising and donating raw materials.
"We are delighted to be able to play our small part supporting the brilliant NHS and keyworkers who are doing such an amazing job at this difficult time."
The school has been fundraising to help buy supplies and Adlington Paper and Board Supplies in Macclesfield have made a generous contribution of card and Polypropylene.
The team of staff are continuing production of PPE equipment.
