Congleton firefighters dealt with a report of a chimney fire in North Rode last night.

The crew were called just before 9pm to a cottage on Shellow Lane, North Rode, and extinguished the fire with a hose and rods.

A thermal imaging camera was then used to check for fire spread.

Earlier in the day firefighters were called to reports of a Congleton grass fire.

Just after 1.30pm the crew were called to approximately 40 square metres of grassland off Weathercock Lane, Congleton.

The crews used beaters to extinguish the fire.
