The Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has created a video to warn against the dangers of fireworks ahead of Bonfire Night.
Firefighter Ted Perry tells the fictional story of Matt who suffers loses his hand as a result of an accident while using fireworks to highlight the potential consequences.
Cheshire Fire's Deliberate Fire Reduction lead, Station Manager Andy Gray said: "As firefighters and officers have been unable to go into schools to engage with young people due to the pandemic, a hard-hitting and thought-provoking video has been produced to remind young people of the consequences setting off fireworks and acting anti-socially in their communities can have.
"I really encourage parents/carers to sit with their children to watch the video and have an open and honest conversation around the dangers of fireworks."
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service is also concerned that this year's cancellation of public bonfire and firework events will prompt people to light fires in their own gardens.
"Our message is clear – please don't be tempted to do so as it brings with it a huge amount of risk.
"Any fire can quickly get out of hand and spread to fences, sheds and properties. It can also cause harm and endanger life. I would therefore urge people to stay safe by thinking of other ways of celebrating the event instead," said Mr Gray.
