Celebrations planned for Congleton War Memorial Hospital's 100th anniversary

Historic celebrations are planned to mark the 100th anniversary of the Congleton War Memorial Hospital.

A 'Picnic in the Park' will take place in Congleton Park on 27 May between 12pm and 5pm.

Congleton Town Council say: "Pack your picnics and join us for this fun, free entry, event.

"Filled with live music and entertainment, including a brass band, a 1920s swing band, traditional games, RSPCA dog show, food & drink stalls and much more!"

Established in 1924 and opened by HRH Duke of York (later King George VI), the hospital holds a significant place in the town's history.

East Cheshire NHS Trust encourages local residents to contribute their cherished memories of the hospital to an online portal.
