The awards are ran by The National Association of British Markets, who have 102 years of celebrating UK markets.

Congleton's bi-weekly Princess Street Market is open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9am until 3.30pm.

Voting for Congleton Market, will also encompass the monthly Makers Market which spreads across our town centre.

Congleton's market is on one level with indoor and undercover outdoor stalls, in a purpose built site next to Morrisons.

Cheshire East Council and Ansa Environmental Services Ltd, who manage the space for Congleton's independent stalls, have been contacted for comment.

The market was originally established under a charter granted to the town in 1272 by Earl of Lincoln, Henry de Lacy, for a weekly market.

The Charter has recently come fire by residents of Biddulph, for which you can read about below.
