71-year-old gearing up to cycle the length of Britain for rickshaw charity

A pensioner is cycling the length of the country for charity.
Congleton resident John Eagle is preparing to cycle over 1,000 miles as he makes his way from Land's End to John o' Groats.
The 71-year-old will do so in aid of Beartown Rickshaw, a small Congleton-based charity helping to make a big difference to the lives of local care home residents.
"I wanted to do something big to support a small charity that does extraordinary work," said John.
"Beartown Rickshaw brings real happiness to people who are too often forgotten.
"At 71, I still love being out on my bike, and this is a way I can use that passion to give back."

John's challenge gets underway on June 1 at Land's End, the southwesternmost point of Great Britain.
If all goes well he will reach John o' Groats, at the tip of Scotland, by June 14.
To do so, he will have to cycle over 70 miles each day.
Every penny raised will go to Beartown Rickshaw, helping the charity expand their fleet, cover maintenance costs and support the volunteers who give their time.
Entirely volunteer-run, Beartown Rickshaw offers unique experiences to elderly and mobility-impaired individuals by taking them out on specially adapted rickshaws for rides through parks, along country lanes, and through the heart of their community.
