Officers have arrested two teenagers following two deliberate fires in Congleton.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of two counts of arson and a 14-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of two counts of arson, possession of a class A drug and possession of a bladed article.

They have both been released under investigation.

The arrests relate to a fire at a disused building on West Street on Sunday 17 May and a fire at a former care home on Moody Street on Monday 1 June.

Cheshire Police told Nub News that they weren't treating the fire at Milford House, West Street, and the cannabis farm, which was discovered at the same property two days prior as linked.
