At around 4.10pm on 11th September (Friday), officers executed a pre-emptive stop on a black Vauxhall Vectra on the A34 towards Congleton.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "The occupants fled the car on foot and a search of the area was conducted, aided by a police drone and the dog unit."

Two men from Blackburn, aged 39 and 18, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of using a false number plate.

The 39-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle, while the 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft.
