Firefighters were called out following concerns relating to a large fire in a back garden in Congleton last night (Friday).

One fire engine from Congleton arrived on Redfern Avenue, Congleton, just before 11pm.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "They arrived to find that it was a controlled burning that was supervised, however, it was considered far too big to be safe."

The crew used a hose reel to put the fire out.
