The list of local causes that Bromley Road Co-op will raise funds for over the next 12 months has been released.

Money is raised for the local causes by Co-op Members buying Co-op branded products.

The three Congleton causes to be supported by the Co-op's Local Community Fund for the next year are listed below:

As well as giving back to your community, Co-op Membership also gets you discounts. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Congleton Nub News)

1 - Congleton Town Football Club

The Bears need no introduction as our town's number one football club. In recent times, they have done their bit for the community by launching a new women's team and upgrading their ground. They also have multiple youth teams.

The club is family-friendly with cheap tickets for both adults and children, as well as selling match day refreshments at an affordable price.

2 - Dive in Education

The second cause the Co-op will raise money for over the next 12 months is Dive In Education.

Dive In Education was founded in 2020. The purpose of the charity is the promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit.

Dive In will achieve its purpose by supplying books and teaching materials to primary schools (in the first instance) funded by private and corporate donations.

The charity's aim is to ensure that as many children as possible have the opportunity to read a book that has a central character that is either a person of colour or disabled (or LQBTQ+ at a later date) with the aim to ensure a more inclusive and fairer society for generations to follow.

They are based in Grosvenor House, 3 Chapel Street, Congleton, Cheshire CW12 4AB.

3 - Visyon

Located on The Meadows / Park Road, Visyon has been supporting the emotional health of children, young people and their families in the Cheshire and Staffordshire moorlands areas since 1994.

Their relationship with the Co-op goes back a few years, but they will have a brand new sum given to them by the Co-op this time next year thanks to Co-op members.

The youth mental health champions provide counselling for those up to 25 years of age.

They have over 40 employees, seven trustees and three volunteers. They rely on public funding.

Pennies from every Co-op branded food product you buy can go towards one of these three charities. You even get to choose where your money raised goes, if you have a favourite Congleton cause. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Congleton Nub News)

Simply become a Co-op Member in-store or online to start raising money for these great causes.

If you sign up to be a Co-op Member, it will cost you just £1. It has been £1 since the Co-op was first founded in 1863.

Co-op membership costs just £1, and you can earn money off your shop, as well as choosing to give money back to local causes. You can even choose which cause you support, be it from Congleton, Holmes Chapel or further beyond! (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Congleton Nub News)
On the Co-op app, members can choose where you want the money you raised through your shopping to go to. It doesn't have to be one of these three Congleton causes, but most Bromley Road members opt for these.

The app tells you how much you have raised personally for your chosen cause throughout the year.

Co-op membership helps support your local community, with great rewards for you too. When you buy selected Co-op branded products and services, 2p for every pound spent goes to you and the Co-op gives the same to local communities.
