Macclesfield-based Spectrum Ophthalmics has appointed two North West marketing agencies as it gears up for a concerted period of business development and growth.

The public relations and communications consultancy Philosophy PR and digital performance agency Growth & Brains will support the leading independent ophthalmic provider.

Starting immediately, Manchester-based Philosophy PR will engage industry media to drive awareness and inform and educate optometrists and ophthalmologists in both the NHS and private sectors to build the profile of Spectrum and its unrivalled range of ophthalmic products and services.

On the digital side, the team at Liverpool-based Growth & Brains will implement a range of data-led SEO, PPC and conversion optimisation services to analyse Spectrum's existing online presence and current performance and drive new growth.

Philosophy PR is owned and operated by Gemma Carey and Victoria Maltby and has worked in the healthcare sector for over a decade.

Founder and co-director Victoria Maltby, commented: "We're delighted to be working with the team at Spectrum as the company embarks on an exciting period of growth, expanding its UK team and bringing new products and technologies to the market.

"Supporting both surgeons and clinicians in private and NHS practice, Spectrum works across the whole industry and really is the 'go-to' provider in the marketplace which gives us plenty to talk about."

Andrew Redfern, founder of Growth & Brains commented "I am delighted to have been chosen as the long-term partner for Spectrum and I am looking forward to playing a small part in the future growth of the business."

Managing director at Macclesfield-based Spectrum Ophthalmics, David Killengrey, added: "The only truly independent distributor in the UK, Spectrum is known for its superior quality and unrelenting passion for the advancement of ophthalmic technology.
