Wednesday November 3 saw the annual Fun Fireworks Social Tournament at Congleton Lawn Tennis Club.

Twenty players enjoyed sparklers courtesy of trophy sponsors EPG Accountants and then played four rounds of tennis to whittle the field down to the final four

In the final Molly Chan and Mike Massey beat Jeannette Walker and Kerry Hall.

Winners Mike and Molly took home takeaway vouchers from sponsors Sizzlers of Congleton.

Runners up Jeannette and Kerry took home cans of beer thanks to local low-calorie beer company Bach 95.

As well as the tournament, a beer tasting session took place with Bach 95.

One of their founders is Will Cliff (33) (now a Sale Sharks player), and an ex-Congleton Lawn Tennis Club junior.

Will was accompanied by another of the business founders Jesse Coulson (44).

The beers were very well received and the remaining beers were all purchased post the tasting session.

This means Bach 95 products will be on sale in the club bar very soon.

Bach 95 will also be sponsoring the New Years Eve tournament at the West Street venue. And this means more beer as prizes. Members can sign up now to enter via the website to be in with a chance of winning.

Andrew Giltrap of Congleton Lawn Tennis Club said: "Thanks went to all who took part as well as all the sponsors, along with Eileen and Lindsay for their work the bar. Thus was another good night at the club.

"Thanks to the lads from Bach 95 for attending, especially as Will had only this week he had some surgery on an injury."
