Remains of calf found under canal bridge near Congleton

The remains of a calf have been found dumped under a canal bridge near Congleton.

Cheshire Police Rural Crime team have now launched an investigation following the shocking discovery earlier today (Monday).

The Cheshire Police Rural Crime team posted the disturbing images on their social media page and issued a statement in response.

PC Tether said: "We have received a report of animal remains left under the canal bridge in Moreton near Congleton.

"The remains have been removed by the RSPCA and have been checked by a vet who has confirmed they have come from a calf.

"If anyone has any relevant information to assist police and the RSPCA to identify the possible owner and potential offender, please contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 20000409484 or anonymously via Crimestoppers here."
