For the third weekend running the club staged another of its closed club championships.

This weekend (Saturday 5 August) it was the Mens Singles tournament.

The weather again held fair and a good field of entrants took to the court.

In the first semi-final, Mens A team player Simon Darmon defeated Kyle Mclellan, the champion from 2018 and 2019.

In the second semi-final, junior Cameron Stevens-Thys defeated James Clemens to make the final in his first entry in the senior tournament.

The final saw some really high-quality tennis and Cameron emerged victorious in front of the remaining competitors who had to stay behind to watch.

Whilst Cameron took home the impressive challenge cup both finalists won vouchers courtesy of tournament sponsors Typhoon Thai.

In the consolation event, Luke Coltman reversed the result of the contest from earlier in the main tournament and edged a close final against Ian Oakley. Luke won the prize vouchers courtesy of club partners Congleton Snooker Club.

Thanks went to all of the entrants who played the event in good spirit and the two sponsors who provided the prizes.
