The Congleton Paddling Pool ended with a mild weekend of weather.

The free Park Road pool closed it's gates on Sunday 12 September, as the short Summer season came to an end.

The small swimming pool - which is nearing a century of service for the people of Congleton - will return next year.

A favourite among youngsters, the wheelchair-friendly waters are located on 19 Park Road.

This year, the pool was only open for less than a month month due to the delayed removal of COVID-19 restrictions.

However, it is hoped we will get over three months of free splashing next year.

Congleton Town Council said: "The town council would like to thank residents and visitors for their patience with the delayed opening and for their co-operation with the online booking system."

"We look forward to welcoming families back on Saturday 28 May 2022."

In the meantime, the gardens will be maintained and funds will be managed to ensure the re-opening of the pool next year.

Booking is likely to continue for next year, to help combat COVID, and ensure a pleasant experience for all.

The pool will also be manned by a door-person with life-guarding responsibilities upon the return.
