Congleton: have you seen any of these pets around town?

In the UK, five dogs go missing a day according to RSA Insurance Group. And the website Tuxedo Cat estimates there are 6.5 million lost cats in Europe, and a quarter of those will never return home. There are currently 10,846 lost cats on the UK National Pet Register alone.

So Congleton Nub News feels inclined to play a small part in help reuniting missing pets to their owners.

If you've seen any of these missing domesticated animals, around town, we've included clickable red links throughout the article, which will lead you to contacting the owners.

The most recent Congleton cat to go missing is Lunar. This grey, neutered kitty has been missing since September 10.

The housecat only recently moved to the UK, and has been seen exploring Congleton in the days since, but is sought to be reunited with their owner.

The cuddly ball of fluff has been spotted in the Mossley area.

The cat has also been spotted on Congleton's Telford Close, near Henshall Hall Area as recently as yesterday, but wasn't able to be reunited with their family.

Lunar has also been sighted at Minton Close and Fenton Close. Congleton residents are politely asked to check their CCTV.

"My worldie Lunar has been missing since 10th September," said owner Kirsty Summerfield.

"We are absolutely heartbroken. To be honest, didn't realise a pet could have this much affect on me as I've never lost one before."

You can see more pictures of Lunar and contact Kirsty here.

Sassy is another Congleton cat that has been missing for weeks - 21 weeks to be precise. The microchipped ginger-furred cat has gone walkabout in the CW12 area.

The four-year-old cat brown rosette Bengal once lived in the Brook Street area of Congleton.

Their owner said: "Sassy went missing early hours on the Sunday morning 25/04/21, she managed to escape and it's her first time going out.

"She has brown rosettes and she has black stripes on the end of her tail. She was recently neutered so the patch of fur isn't fully grown back. Brown stripe round her neck."

You can contact the owner with any information here.

The final missing animal we will ask for your help looking for today is Suzie.

The spayed female went missing from Galloway Green, near to the Eaton Bank Academy in the Lower Heath area of Congleton.

Suzie was last seen on April 27 at 1pm.

She is microchipped, but lacks a collar. The Domestic short-haired pussy has beautiful black and white fur.

The disappearing cat can be distinguished by a marking round her mouth which looks like a moustache.

Owner Jools can be contacted here.
